{"id":677,"date":"2021-05-22T17:22:25","date_gmt":"2021-05-22T21:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/?p=677"},"modified":"2021-05-22T17:22:25","modified_gmt":"2021-05-22T21:22:25","slug":"looking-back-on-the-journey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/?p=677","title":{"rendered":"Looking Back on the Journey"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It was May of 2012 when we began to use our blog to muse about why the Stewardship Foundation was founded, what we believe in, and it should matter to our investors and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2009, some Christians gathered in New York City and drafted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manhattandeclaration.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declaration<\/a> that became a \u201ccall of Christian Conscience\u201d and we responded by mirroring their stated moral principles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sanctity of human life<\/li><li>Dignity of marriage as a union between husband and wife<\/li><li>Freedom of conscience and religion<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/call2ChristCon.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/call2ChristCon-1024x614.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/call2ChristCon-1024x614.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/call2ChristCon-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/call2ChristCon-768x461.png 768w, https:\/\/www.stewardshipworks.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/call2ChristCon.png 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>With this as a basis, we wrote <em>our<\/em> Credo of Beliefs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We believe\u2026<\/strong> in transformational giving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We believe\u2026<\/strong> that giving is a collaborative act between the donor, the charity, and their God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We believe\u2026<\/strong> that transformational giving is not about the bottom line, but about the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We believe\u2026<\/strong> that transformational giving creates partnerships that impact entire communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We believe\u2026<\/strong> in the sanctity of human life, marriage and sexual morality, and religious freedom and the rights of conscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We believe\u2026<\/strong> that it is our responsibility to care for the poor, the sick and the disadvantaged, and to use our talents for the betterment of mankind through education, opportunity and freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, we stand firm to this Credo.
