Our Roots
In 2009, a group of notable religious leaders met in New York City to respond to a ‘call of Christian conscience’. At the end of the day, they drafted and signed a declaration to affirm the dignity of life, that marriage between a man and a woman to be the most basic institution in society, and because all men are made by God to be inherently free, religious liberty.
A year later, certified financial planner, Joseph Finneran, founded The Stewardship Foundation to fulfill his vision for a new kind of charitable foundation based on these three tenets.
The Foundation practices what Joe calls transformational giving — gifts that have as profound an effect on the donor as on the organization that receives it.
Jim Kebe came on board in 2010 to give the Foundation legs with his decade of nonprofit experience, a deep faith and a vision for the heart of planning giving.
Our original logo was designed by Nathan Ours, a student at Tiffin University, and Evan Jones, a student at University of Cincinnati College of DAAP. The question mark asks: Where is your treasure? Where is your heart?
